Will be back to try more. So far what we did have was tasty.
Pleasant and quick service at a good price, peaceful setting. We ordered the broccoli beef and the server asked what level of spice we would like. I have never been asked that before with broccoli beef. The kiddo was feeling adventurous and tried two stars. It was better than your average broccoli beef with the added flavor and it was already a high quality, well made dish.
Royal Palace is an authentic, family-owned restaurant whose head chef has been cooking professionally for over 20 years. He is seriously such a baller and will make you the best Peking Duck you 've ever had in Washington. Try to make a reservation in advance if you want to order the Peking Duck course. They 'll give it to you in 3 courses: first the wrap, then you can get the duck with rice or noodles, and then they 'll make you the most delicious soup you 'll ever have. Apparently Chinese people go here and tell the owners 'thank you for an authentic meal. '
The food is quite excellent. My wife and I shared the garlic chicken wings which were the best chicken wings in either of us have ever had (bowl of 8). I had the basil chicken which was excellent and would happily order every time we go back.
