Some of me was concerned that the garlic sauce (which is on everything) was not vegan, as it was white and creamy, but the shield outside confirmed that it was vegan, so that was excellent. I find Mediterranean cuisine at garlicky and on the higher side with salt, but this is a personal diet preference and for others this would be a plus. The hummus and baba Kannuj was excellent and so was the Pita he came with.
My parents live in Bothell and usually when I am in town, we get delivery or delivery form Mediterranean cuisine at one or the other point. There are tons of great vegan options on the menu, but always check with them to ensure that milk is given up when needed by vegetarian items. I enjoyed the baba ganoush, fava, hummus, fried cauliflowers, grape leaves and more.
I appreciated the sign on the door that stated “everything vegan except…” and listed a few non-vegan items. However, my experience was a letdown. I ordered the mezza tray and requested a substitution of more hummus for the dairy over the phone. Unfortunately, they left out the baba ganouj, and the presentation of the dish was quite disappointing—it looked more like soup. The container was filled to the top with very creamy, garlicky hummus, accompanied by only a small spoonful of cauliflower, and two pitas on the side. The cauliflower was tasty, despite being overwhelmed by the hummus. While the hummus itself was good, it was so rich and garlicky that it gave me a stomach ache. Surprisingly, I’ve been off garlic and hummus for weeks now, which is unusual for me! I personally prefer Bella Balducci’s, though I’m not sure if their pita is vegan. I tried the veggie shawarma, baba ghanoush (eggplant), and hummus during my visit. The staff is knowledgeable about the ingredients and can assist you in choosing vegan options. I was initially concerned that the garlic sauce (which is served with everything) wasn't vegan, as it looked white and creamy, but the sign outside confirmed that it is indeed vegan, which was great. Personally, I find Mediterranean cuisine to be a bit too garlicky and salty for my taste, but that might be a plus for others. The hummus and baba ghanoush were outstanding, and the pita bread that came with them was also superb.
My parents live in Bothell, and whenever I'm in town, we often end up ordering takeout or delivery from Mediterranean Kitchen at some point. They offer a wide variety of fantastic vegan options on the menu, but it's always a good idea to confirm that dairy is omitted from any vegetarian dishes if needed. I've really enjoyed the baba ganoush, fava beans, hummus, fried cauliflower, grape leaves, and more.
