Feedback gevenI rarely place any reviews, but would like to give 5 stars to sweet cakes bakery for their amazing desserts, friendly atmosphere and a great selection of desserts (including gluten-free and vegan)! Recently I tried the festagsbrote (pumpkin, cranberry orange and banana) and all were amazing not too sweet (which is very important for me) moist, with beautiful aromen and textures! my absolute favorit was a pumpkin bread and I recommend you try it! all employees of sweet cakes are very positiw and friendly; and I am very impressed by fresh flowers in the bakery and beautiful dessert table as display. all about this bakery creates a beautiful mood and I will be happy to come back there!
I got the feeling that the staff were not invested in the customer experience at all. We asked about the menu on the wall and it was like pulling teeth to get a response that was more than one syllable. Finally someone in the back said their menu wasn’t accurate (which is also a mystery since you can always tape over items that you don’t plan to sell). We never did get a good answer about the whoopie pies. Does anyone know what we have to do to get one? Are they only made during certain times? Have they been canceled? Why is it so weird to ask this question??We ended up getting a couple of bars and cupcakes to try. Cupcake tasted ok if a bit dry (is it a side effect of being gluten free Bars leaned on the sweet side.
I visited this restaurant twice before writing this review. I found the desserts to be just okay. I tried different desserts each time. The red velvet cupcake was very chewy and tasted artificial. The caramel brownie was okay, but it was overly sweet, so the taste was mostly sugar. The chocolate tart and cupcake were both lacking in flavor. There are definitely better places to get good desserts. Even Starbucks would be a better option. I really wanted to like this place.
My wife had been trying to order a cake for our daughter's first birthday from this bakery. She contacted them in August to ensure they had dairy-free options (our daughter has severe dairy and soy allergies) and submitted a request through their website. They mentioned they only needed two weeks notice. Last week on the 15th, she finally decided on the cake design - a one-tiered 8-inch, dairy-free vanilla or chocolate cake with light pink fondant in a cushion design, to be ready by October 2nd. We received a response on the 17th, confirming the fondant request. However, after multiple days without communication, we were informed on the 23rd that their fondant decorator couldn't meet the deadline. They did not provide alternative options or a new timeline. My wife was disappointed as we had heard great things about their dairy-free options and had high hopes for their service. Unfortunately, due to the lack of communication, we had to find another bakery that could deliver the custom design by next Saturday. We appreciate their efforts but wish they were better at handling custom orders. Though we found another bakery that can accommodate us in time, it is missing the personal touch my wife had envisioned for our daughter's special day.
The tart crust is super hard. You can get much better one with less price from a grocery.
