Never disappoints! BUT we did come in today for the lobster risotto specifically and it has been discontinued. The bolognese is a great back up. Food is delicious and service is consistent highly recommend.
The wait for dish took longer than expected. Overall food was great.
The best meal I have ever had in my life and I am a 62 year old so a lot of eating from Manhattan so a lot of amazing restaurants. Chef Philipe hope that is how to spell his name is nothing short of brilliant. Please note; I have never written a restaurant review in my life. I have also worked at fine dining establishments in NYC The Water Club for example as a struggling actress in NY. Chef's meals were flavorful, smooth yet interesting and works of art in terms of presentation. The drinks Antonio created were beautiful to look at, delicious to drink and clearly presented with care. I am not a drinker but had to have 2 Jasmine Martinis and an Espresso Martini. Both suggested by Javier, a lovely gentlemen dining in the bar. We ate in the bar because it was quieter but the restaurant was not at all noisy. The music was a perfect volume and the ambience exquisite. I suggest you look up at the ceiling to see what a difficult array of building fixtures the designer had to work around. The service was impeccable and I am a stickler for great service former waitress. The staff had to deal with 2 major calamities while we were there. They did so with grace and poise. Our waiter informed us we could not order salads as the ingredients were tainted. A waitress accidentally knocked the champagne glasses into the prep area and they did not want to risk an accident for the guests. The second was handled discreetly. We would have never known had we not noticed the fireman near the bathroom and seen a diner being put into an ambulance problem was not related to the restaurant. My fear is that you will go to Volterra and I won't be able to get a table. Just know, you will not be disappointed if you do and really miss something if you don't give it a try. Enjoy! PS I am not being dramatic. Now a Dr. and never hyperbolic.
We sat at the bar and practically had our own private dining experience. Sara, our server, was fantastic and provided excellent recommendations. We will definitely be returning!
