Students had travelled from as far as a field as Japan, the North East and Lowestoft. Every one was very pleased with their rooms which were clean modern and comfortable. The breakfasts provided were very good. The owner and the staff were very helpful, polite and pleasant. A group of twelve of us had a meal in the pub on the Friday night. Food was very good and varied I don't know how they provide quality food at this price. Service was very good also. I would ignore the older reviews the Liversedge has changed vastly and is worth a visit for food or just a drink.
Since this has changed hands I cannot fault the staff or the food very efficient and very good value for money. I would like to go for the carvery since it has changed hands as it was a poor meal before, so would like to give it a chance. Good luck to the new owners and keep up the good improvements.
We had our Christmas meal here and the facilities have changed a lot since we last in... The service was brilliant and the staff were all very helpful and pleased to help if you had a problem.. The new management have done a lovely job keep it up
Well not sure how to start but here goes. Firstly, they did not accept credit cards etc. so my husband had to drive to the local AtM machine. Ok not their fault. Technical difficulties. I ordered 'Dry white wine and lemonade with ice no lemon. Received Dry wine wine. Asked again for dry white wine with lemonade in a tall glass i.e Spritzer. Received same wine in the same glass with a dash of lemonade. 3rd time lucky got it right. Very quiet with not many customers 4pm. Tables dirty (asked 3 times if they could be cleaned heating not working. We should have walked out then but we still had guest to arrive. Out of 8 meals 3 came and had been eaten before the rest had arrived. Other tables complaining in droves and leaving without paying. Children 's food arrived with peas instead of beans (ok not a big deal but no appology my Cajon chicken with Coleslaw and Corn on the Cob arrived with no Coleslaw or Cob just scabby oily chips (and I mean scabby and the most ill looking salad or should I say (1 slice of cucumber, 2 sorry looking onion slices and the few smallest poorlyest brown edged look lettuce leaves you have ever seen. (no tomatoes Still no appology or explanation. We have to search for our own cutlery but ended up asking for it with any sauces we required. I asked for fresh salad which consisted of a few more lettuce leaves and cucumber (still not tomatoes!! the majority of our meals were warm (ish Now I know I seem harsh and believe it or not I am not one for moaning as we can all have a bad day. BUT as the youngesters say OMG !!!!! will not be stepping foot in that hovel again. Dark, dingy, dirty, drab. Needs a dam good clean and a kick up the backside. The management should be ashamed.
My Mother 's Day treat was a tea-time meal at Lillibet 's Liversedge. The kitchen staff really need to get their act together because they couldn 't organise a booze up in a brewery. They didn 't even get the drinks right, and Guinness wasn 't available. The waitress was clearly as mortified as we were with our meals. They were soggy, cold and in a couple of cases not what was ordered. A slug would have refused the lettuce on my daughter-in-law 's plate. Some of us had finished before others had even been served. People were walking out, and I don 't blame them. Being busy is no excuse. In the food industry where there is so much competition, they really need to pull their socks up at this place. To add insult to injury the card machine was 'broken ' so it needed a trip to an ATM before we could pay. Suffice it to say we didn 't risk a pudding!! One thing is that we 'll all remember it, if only for the wrong reasons.
