Ice Hotell - Kiruna

Great place to stay and experience the northern part of Sweden! Sadly did not get to stay in the ice rooms, but the warm rooms were wonderful and cozy. We also took a northern lights tour through the ice hotel and our guide Maria was spectacular, it was one of our favorite nights in Sweden even though we didn’t see the lights. Special shout out to our friends working the ice bar in the hotel, Erik and Ebba! They were so kind and we want to visit again to hang out with them. Erik was making some great drinks so make sure you visit him at this unique hotel

It’s a spectacular place, an entire hotel built in ice

It’s an amazing place to visit and enjoy the amazing views and the beautiful artwork, every piece is crafted beautifully with love. A place to enjoy tranquility and relax, have a lot of activities. Plus an amazing team operating the place everything is great and for sure it’s one of my bucket list. Thank you ice hotel for the hospitality and granting a great experience and wonderful memories

The hotel is in a nice peaceful location, and they offer ice or warm accommodation. We opted for the warm room and it was just okay. The rooms we saw did not appear like the photos, they were pretty outdated. We needed to move from our first room because the shower had some moldy grout and rust in it, the tv did not work, and the lamp was missing a bulb. Our second room also had grout and rust, but we stayed. No ventilation in the room either, but we were able to open the windows. The room was clean with exception of the shower, and very quiet! The Ice portion of the hotel is beautiful to walk through and check out all of the rooms on display, and to get a drink at the ice bar. Complimentary breakfast was nice, and there was a pretty decent selection to choose from. Parking can be a bit tight at night, but they do have a dirt lot across from the property that also included electric chargers.

The area is beautiful, however, we got a dirty and tired room with muck on the walls, mould in the shower and covering the grouting (which really needs to be replaced), hair all over the room and just general grubbiness due to lack of attention in their cleaning. The breakfast was good, however, seems less effort is put into maintenance in the summer than winter.
