Applebee's - Knoxville

I guess I shouldn't have expected much. It is Applebee's, after all. We were enticed by the half off appetizers. We waited several minutes before the server came to our table. We were actually about to get up to leave by the time the server came to our table. Everything seemed sticky and dirty. Server forgot my husband's beer. Never brought us silverware or offered refills. A manager finally brought us silverware. Food was ok. Won't be back. Again, it's Applebee's, so I shouldn't have been surprised.

Poorly Managed, Stinky Bathrooms. This place has spent a lot remodeling, but that money would have been better spent on training or recruiting good employees. First, the men's bathroom smells like a gas station bathroom. It's either a urinal or a toilet not sealed and sewer fumes leaking into the bathroom. When we arrived there were 4 younger people who worked there screwing around at the front door all arguing about which one was going to wipe down the tables and mingling. A party of four came in and requested a high top so they let them skip 3 parties that were ahead of them to be seated. @Applebees on Twitter had contacted me and asked if I would try out the new wood fired grill and I said sure. They sent 50.00 in e - certificates. I ordered a steak which took 45 minutes to arrive. I immediately noticed it was cut weird which prevented them from cooking it evenly. I later learned this is supposed to be a selling point, they are hand cut. The entire presentation of the meal was terrible and I would have been ticked off if I had paid what they asked for that meal. On a positive note I have tried the pub menu after concerts and it's quite good and a decent value. We went back for lunch today and to use the remainder of the certificate. Bathroom still stunk and the service was very poor. There was NO floor MANAGER on duty. The only manager there was the kitchen manager. When I told the server that seemed odd, she argued with me about it. One last note look up in the table lights. You'll likely see a bug carcass.

Excellent service, food was good and we even enjoyed some new flavors! Very affordable!

Waitress was great and really nice, food was great, had a great time with my gorgeous baby momma/girlfriend and my niece!
