Popped into today from the ferry terminal. The waitress was busy with a Facebook update on her mobile (excuse the intrusion) When the cafe latte came it was seven parts milk froth- hurriedly made with no thought or attention to what she was doing. Then she returned to her Facebook update. If you’re going to charge 80 baht for a latte with one shot of expresso at least teach the staff how to make it. Starbucks is good value for money compared to this place.
Yesterday, we visited this restaurant for a quick snack. We were disappointed when the young girl at the counter seemed more focused on her phone than on serving us. There were no menus, just boards with pictures of the food. We ordered a cheese and ham panini, a pastry, and two sodas. I requested the panini to be hot, but it was microwaved instead of grilled. The girl continued texting while our food was prepared. When the panini finally arrived, it was inedible - rubbery and with a strange smell. After one bite, I decided not to eat it.
My wife and I had lunch at this French cafe located in the town of Nathon, the administrative capital of Koh Samui. It should be noted that there is no place called Ang Thong on Koh Samui. The cafe is clean, bright, and open, with a charming and friendly staff. The owner is a great guy who interacts with all the customers. The food and coffee are both excellent and reasonably priced.
Popped in here a few times as I was staying in My Living Place just over the road. The food was excellent and the staff were really friendly and helpful. It looked as though the team got on really well as they were laughing and joking with each other. A pleasant experience.
