The sauerbraten came with an unappetizing amount of mediocre rotkohl (red cabbage), and mashed potatoes instead of dumplings which were kind of tasteless. The sauerbraten itself was...unremarkable. My grandmother makes better. One of my German friends asked me what was wrong with my appetite, since I’m usually the kind of person who cleans the plate and helps others. I had to admit that my meal was not very good. Otherwise, the place was nice, the Kölsch beer tasty, and the service friendly and attentive.
Wood-panelled restaurant, slightly formal though friendly, offering a choice of traditional-style dishes which made a welcome change from the usual offerings of schnitzel, pork steaks etc. The food, wine and service were very good and we enjoyed our visit. Credit cards accepted.
The schnitzel was good. Cheese and fruit was great. My husband really enjoyed the sauerkraut. The pizza appetizer was delicious.
