Gammelgården Hotell Restaurang

This review is for the restaurant. It is the most authentic and most interesting dining experience I had in Sweden so far, apart from the sea food. The restaurant is focused on the northern and wild sourced food, such as reindeer, moose, grouse, rowanberry, cloudberry and alike, and I believe that some of these cannot be found elsewhere. The interior is rustic, wooden, with traditional paintings on walls and furniture, and plenty of wooden, hunt and life in the North items, overall extremely cozy and interesting.

Atmosphere is great! Food is really good. Service could be improved.

Location is great Atmosphere is very Christmas y and cozy Food is top notch Complimentary high quality sparkling water in the room Sauna is great There is a massive lack of management at the property. It feels like there is no management and the only people working are waiters and waitresses, who all seem very young and inexperienced. Moreover most waiters are new and this leads to operational problems such as waiting 1.5h for your meal at dinner… Another challenge of having no mgmt is for example the complete lack of knowledge of the surrounding, ski paths etc… Finally our room was ok but 2 lights were not working and the walls were very thin we could hear our neighbours coughing and walking outisde in the corridor There is also no room service nor a mini bar… In short: great for a lunch and dinner if you have time (2 3h). Ok for one night but if you stay longer I would go somewhere else until a manager is hired
