Brasserie Marienbild - Köln

Very friendly welcome from staff who went the extra mile to ensure that we understood the menu! Ordered cheeseburger with cheese and bacon and fries and it was amazing!!! Beer was good, cold and free flowing. A very enjoyable experience.

I have a nonsense discussion with a blunt member of the staff when I joined a group of friends sitting in the beer garden and drinking an ice. note the marienbild is a brewery and do not serve ice cream, so there was no conflict of...interest then the waiter, from unknown ground, refused to serve us any other beer as a crunch (although weizenbier definitiw was available). if they are looking for good breweries in köln, they go to the brewing site or craft beer coeln, where beer is good and the personal is friendly.

They serve traditional dishes from Cologne and the Rhineland region, and you can drink yourself to heaven with the typical Gaffel Kölsch. The atmosphere is nice and jovial, as you would expect from a German tavern, with very friendly and attentive waiters. We shared a...platter of Marienbild starters and each enjoyed our main courses. However, it was a bit of a struggle to satisfy our only Vegetarian since the menu is not surprisingly dominated by meat.

The Marienbildspiess is outstanding coupled with its superb cognac sauce and some of the best au gratin potatoes I have ever had. The rest of the menu looks great as well. Take the Clarenbachstift stop off the #1 train west of the Altstadt. Worth the...trip.

We passed from their house to enjoy some local cuisine. the server was very friendly and offered suggestions in English. they, we have learned about the Kölsch beer in köln and that if they don't put their coasters on their glass, they. they will just refill it, haha! eating here is very good as I ordered the scavenger and my man was sausage. both arrived with delicious sour wort and the portions were too big to finish. note: this is a loud place with many natives who enjoy themselves immensely and is a great opportunity to enjoy the color, culture and speech! we will definitely visit again at our next visit in köln.
