Mandalay - Köln

Me and some of my friends family have lunch the restaurant in cologne. This restaurant is authentic Myanmar Food restaurant. Myanmar is unknown country due to Military Regine government till 2011. We are Tourist from Myanmar and after we visited 15 days in Europe, we missed Myanmar food. But my friends are from others region. They are not Burmese. When I called and did booking for me and my friends family, the restaurant owner ask what kinds of taste we would like to have and when we was theirs restaurant the taste is what we expected. As a Buddhist owner, the restaurant is decorated with some of Buddha statues and will give you quite atmosphere of Buddhism and Charing chanting if Buddhist sermon . We had an amazing lunch there cologne in Europe with Burmese style and atmosphere. The restaurant owner couple Mr. Aung Thu is very honest and friendly man. He is very helpful and friendly. I strongly recommend to whom like to try Burmese tradition food.

We visited the restaurant with a group of 8 P. I guess most of us would be all ok with the restaurant but I guess, I had had expected too much. The restaurant was crowded and full which shows people like it to be here. I came in pretty early that evening and noticed how dirty the Salt n Pfeffer Muffineer are. The room is way too cold and you could hear the engine (whatever it was) from the kitche.I ordered the Tee Leaves Salat (fermented tea leaves I perhaps)and it tasted miserable. For the main course I ordered the Burmanese Duck which turned to be pretty near to Duck in Soy Sauce - very chinese like. At end I guess they got my order wrong.I would probably return someday. But not in the bear future.

My friends and i were pretty tired after hiking all day and found this restaurant in Little Belgium. The staff was really sweet to us and since we weren't local the waitress started asking us questions about where we were from. Unfortunately they did not have an English menu so we asked the chef for what was good. the food was great and the waitress and staff was really sweet, it was a little slow but that was because there was one waitress for the whole restaurant and like three people in the kitchen so it was understandable. overall my friends and i had a great time and i highly recommend ordering off the first page since its all their specials

The visit at Mandalay was indeed a bit disappointing, especially due to curiousness about cuisine previously unknown to me. We've decided to have main courses, I settled for a spicy chicken with vegetables. The chicken as such was correct, a breast cut into stripes. Funnily, the cutlery we all received consisted of forks and spoons, an the chicken pieces were not only to big for a bite but not soft enough to be divided with a fork. The sauce was quite watery, not even remotely spicy and consisted of small pieces of vegetables, rather bland all in all. Mixed feelings.

The food meant to be nice according to the overall trip adviser rating. But we were disappointed of being turned down due to one friend more than originally planned an reserved for due to "not enough chairs" ????? .... poor performance unfortunately
