Unexpectedly, we received a sweet and tasty gift in my room as we roamed the property. We enjoyed interactions from afar with the parrots in the lobby and taking pictures near the Christmas trees and other decorations. Front desk provided us a card with what was included in the amenities. 2 free Hyatt reusable water bottles was one of them! Lazy river pool was definitely lazy as I had expected it to flow at least a slow pace, sike! I didn't feel like I was moving at all. Since the pool was open 24/7, we decided to take a night dip. For safety reasons, I would highly recommend lighting in the pool and maybe along the path. Since the jacuzzi within walking distance was closed, we had to swim across the pool to the only open jacuzzi at night..and the water was cold! Pool cabana rental: Included 2 lounge chairs, shade under a tent, cooler, and 2 free rental tubies. Spa/Sauna/pool classes: Are only available to Hyatt members. Kukui nut class at Stevenson's library was very educational and refreshing. Tidepools Iliahi Terrace were a couple of restaurants on property. Though our visit was short, it was a nice getaway and retreat!
The Grand Hyatt was a real treat and worth the extra moolah. We are usually frugal shoppers and decided on paying a little more for such a well reviewed luxury resort. Didn't regret it one bit. All staff were absurdly friendly and helpful, from front desk to housekeeping to pool attendants. Self parking is easy, close to the lobby, and never over capacity. The grounds are massive and beautifully kept, with plenty of lush foliage, ornate art, and styled pathways. We enjoyed the on-premises dining, which were expectedly expensive, but served quality meals with quality ingredients. The rooms are comfortable, with lots of amenities like a sanitary pack of masks and wipes, spa products, espresso machine, and chromecast enabled flatscreen TV. Our only regret is not being able to stay longer to enjoy the beautiful scenery on shipwreck beach, with impressive pools and hikes around.
5 star hotel? Oof. Especially for this price I'm Shocked of what's going on, and I still got a few more days here. What more can go wrong. House keeping arrived at 640pm. First what? Like you had all day to clean and with a quiet island and everything closing by 5 of course I'm in the room. So I left. What I thought was clean towels is clearly not by the pictures I posted...that is seriously gross. Hyatt is more like a motel 6 at this point. The fridge is more like a freezer. Your food will be frozen. But sadly you don't have a microwave to unthaw your food. So then you gotta order room service BUT wait they'll charge you a 21% surcharge on it, because the 2 restaurants won't let you take food to go. You have to sit there, eat and then you'll get a box for your leftovers. The gym that is suppose to be state of the art is being remodeled and in a tiny room cramped. Pros: the ocean, the lobby. FYI this is a beach you can't swim in. Oh we also saw the luau and people were complaining about the pork. The show was just ok, I've seen better. Save your money. 175 is extreme.
Definitely one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. The property is massive; the pools are incredible; beds comfortable and if you get an ocean view room where you can hear the waves from your balcony, you'll be in heaven (but I'm sure you'll enjoy any of the other rooms as well). Depending on where you're at, be aware you might walk a lot to get to your room and back--so if you don't want that, request a room closer to the lobby. The staff here really are great and anticipate your needs. They had cribs as well (not just pack and plays) for babies. There is a great coastal trail off this property too that takes you along seaside cliffs with some incredible views. The only downside is the beach it's on (Shipwreck) is a surfer's beach and not super swimmable, but there are swimming/snorkel options nearby (check out the snorkeling spot near the amazing shaved ice place called Riptides). All in all, I'd definitely stay here again!
Our honeymoon at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort Spa was an unforgettable experience! The staff here is genuinely the friendliest we have ever met. They made our stay incredibly special, from the champagne welcome to the wonderful room upgrade. We couldn't be happier with our time at the resort. The amenities are outstanding, featuring a well-equipped gym, a luxurious spa, and even a Lululemon boutique. The resort truly provides everything you could possibly want for a perfect getaway. The restaurants are all of five-star quality, serving delicious meals, and the nightly live music added a delightful touch to our evenings. We had such a fantastic time that we can't wait to return. If you're looking for an exceptional stay in Kauai, we highly recommend the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort Spa!
