Red Salt at Ko’a Kea Resort - KOLOA

I booked Red Salt for my husbands birthday based on the great reviews. I wanted to love it but we were disappointed. We were seated near four other tables in an alcove and could barely hear our waitress. Our waitress was handling a number of tables so we waited longer than expected for service. Other than a happy birthday greeting from our waitress it was nothing special. The food was good. For the price we expected more.

The experience was a 5/5! Ashley was our server and she was awesome! Super attentive and sweet. I had the surf and turf and it was the best steak I’ve ever had. The setting was beautiful and quiet, so we could hear all our conversation after celebrating a beautiful vow renewal. The valet staff was warm and gracious. Red Salt was fantastic!!!! A bit on the pricey side, however all the food and drink and service were 100% worth it

Great location, right on the beach. Sushi was excellent!! Mongchong was terrific and service is exceptional. A bit spendy but well worth it!! We will be back soon!!

Absolutely wonderful meal. Rated Ambience a bit lower due to fellow diners bringing a very casual vibe and it felt more upscale even at a resort.

We enjoyed dinner at the Red Salt restaurant twice while in Kauai. Everything was delicious. The sushi rolls are among the best I’ve ever eaten. The dinner dishes we tried (monchong crusted with blue crab and the lobster gnocchi were delicious generously portioned. The bar is excellent with many creative cocktail options as well as a number of nice wines. The service was friendly, efficient and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant when visiting the south shore of Kauai.
