One of the highlights of Kartong is its beautiful white sandy beach located two kilometers away, as well as a small river and village that form a natural border with Senegal. It is truly an unforgettable and idyllic place that I recommend to everyone. I decided to explore Senegal by crossing the small river, which was an adventure in itself. However, we faced some moments of insecurity when our guides led us astray and we found ourselves stranded with no means of transportation back. Eventually, we stumbled upon a restaurant in the middle of nowhere where we were charged European prices for drinks. Despite the challenges, the natural beauty of the area made the experience worthwhile. If you decide to visit Senegal, be cautious when crossing the border and consider renting a car for transportation. Overall, Kartong is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Gambia, offering a unique and unforgettable experience.
