The coffee was too weak for my liking and I didn't enjoy it. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she brought me a glass of water instead of addressing the issue with the coffee. Despite not drinking the coffee, it was still included on the bill, which I found disappointing. The most disturbing part of our experience was the large number of flies in the dining room that were bothersome throughout our meal. If we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely not be dining here.
My party consisted of two people. One person ordered the deluxe omelette with home fries and toast and thoroughly enjoyed it, describing it as very tasty and delicious. I opted for the gyro on pita with fries, along with a side of feta and olives. The gyro was excellent, and I requested extra tzatzicki, which was promptly provided. The restaurant was clean and the service was excellent. While it is a family restaurant and not a place for gourmet food, the home-style dishes we tried were nonetheless delicious.
We haven't been back since it first opened 20+ years ago. The food was not great. They recently went through a renovation, so we decided to give it another chance. Quite disappointed. The salad bar was not fresh. The meal was bland. I think they use frozen everything-fries, vegetables, fish, etc. They do have a liquor licence, so if that is the most important part for you, give it a try. We will not return.
With a remodeled interior and large front windows, the Country Hearth is a good start to a day. The menu offers an array of favorites plus a buffet. Service is quick and the food tasty.
