1624 Restaurant Bar - Kongsberg

This was a great place to relax after a long day, chill with friends and have great food drinks. Emanuel was awesome and made the whole experience 100x better! Will definitely come back on my next visit to beautiful Norway and Kongsberg! :

Went for dinner and a drink. It was lovely. Great and polite staff. Amazing view of Kongsberg. I recommend.

I have been staying/living at the Clarion in Kongsberg for 2 months. I have visited this restaurant 5 times, each time trying a different dish, and each time being terribly disappointed with the quality and flavor combination. It is clear that they are trying to be new and fancy but the flavors are not inspired, do not blend well, and degrade the experience of the food. As an example, the tiramisu and the crème brûlée include chocolate that is covered in curry powder. It ruins what would otherwise be a mediocre dessert. The cost of the food is also disappointing. $20 for a scallop appetizer and you get 2 small scallops. Overpriced and a failed attempt at fancy, not for flavor, but simply to be different, and it does not work. The selection is also extremely puzzling and disappointing. They offer only one dish with pasta, an over-sauced carbonera(they do not offer the the delicious looking pasta dish pictured on their website at all), and there are zero dinner salads yet they offer the equivalent of a side salad on top of many of their pizzas. The customer service has been awful on every occasion. 2/5

Service 1/5 eat 2/5 we reserved a table earlier this day to request a table outside. at this time were 51 seats. we were 5 minutes up, and the butler told us to wait. they stood on their computer for a few minutes to surf before I look, now I have time to help them. there were 6 tables outside, but we sat in the middle of the restaurant without explanation. when we asked if we could sit outside after the question, they could be reserved and served first. When we started to ask ourselves why we were not prioritized, they simply replied that they could sit. when we left the restaurant 90 minutes later, we did not come to smile or to leave. 4 tables were still available outside, and it was not possible to book after 1930 as we had reserved. we are not going to enrol here.

Nice place with great view. Dessert was amazing, meal was good. Very friendly and helpful staff.
