Barbarossa - Konstanz

The restaurant is centrally located in constanz, but is overrun by tourist.Essen medium quality, but fast operation also at full tables.

The restaurant is centrally located in Konstanz, therefore it seems a good option when just arrived you are looking for a place to dine. The menu is full of common German dishes, but nothing so extraordinary. Given the quality of the food and the choice, I think the prices are too high. I had smoked salmon with the classic potato stuffed with fresh cheese and herbs. I got few slices of salmon and a big stuffed potato with a tiny salad aside. It was ok, nothing special.

From the outside the hotel looks very nice, however we waited over an hour for a caesar salad & a bratwurst with french fries & vegetables. We were offered dry bread before the meal with no butter, dressing or oils. Other customers were becoming quite irritable and one family actually gave their son some money to buy food at a fast food takeaway across the street. There were at least 4 staff on hand who were looking rather embarrassed about the delays. When the food finally arrived it was unimpressive as the salad was very sparse and the Bratwurst was no more than a few sausages and dry chips. My wife had received her salad at least 15 minutes before my meal & had finished by the time mine had arrived.We were offered a small snapps in compensation but overall very poor service indeed.

The restaurant barbarossa is located in i. og in a historical building in the city center of Konstanz.The walls were painted with dark wood approx. 2 m high dressed. beautiful stucco ceilings complement the historical furnishings.Reception very friendly and helpful.Tishes were neatly prepared.The eating incl. the appetizer was good to very good. fresh salads as an appetizer crisp and made with a good salad sauce.meat dishes that were kept cooking, the sweet also well and not cooked.For dessert there was no more space.The restaurant incl. the toilets was very clean, there was nothing to complain about.The price-performance ratio just in order (near Switzerland).One visit could be worthwhile.
