The climper box was closed for a short time and is reopened after a complete renovation. It was on 5. July reopened and the former staff of the now closed black cat took over the operations in the climper box. I stopped for a drink and looked at the new place. There is an L-shaped bar with stools and a shared seating area in the rest of the bar. There are huge windows opposite the street and I watched some cartridges sitting on the window ledge enjoying their drinks and watching the traffic over. The brown tile decorations in the bathroom area are pretty. In the main room there are brown ceiling tiles and a discoball. The beverage menu consists of various beers on tap, cocktails, bottled beers, wine, soft drinks, juices, hot drinks, malt, liqueurs, rums and more. The waiters will serve you at your table in contrast to some of the other self-service bars around the city. They offer some small snacks (chips, porcelain, etc..., which cost around € 1.50, which were offered to the beverage paying customers of the old black cat for free. Beautiful atmosphere and great entertainment

The Klimperkasten was closed for a short while and is now reopened after a total renovation. It re-opened on July 5th and the former staff from the now closed Schwarze Katze has taken over the operations at Klimperkasten. I stopped by for a beverage and to check out the new place. There is an ‘L’ shaped bar with stools and a split level seating area in the rest of the bar. There are huge windows facing the street and I observed some patrons sitting on the window ledge enjoying their beverage and watching the traffic go by. The brown tile decorations in the bathroom area are pretty nice. In the main room there is brown ceiling tiles and a disco ball. The drink menu consists of various beers on tap, cocktails, bottled beers, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, juices, hot drinks, malts, liquors, rums and more. The waiters will serve you at your table unlike some of the other self-serve bars around town. They do offer some small snacks (chips, pretzels, etc..) costing around €1.50, which was offered free to the drink paying customers at the old Schwarze Katze.Nice atmosphere and great for conversation
I go here often. It is a great place to chill and have a quite beer.Don't expect a fancy dinner (the small cakes and tarts are great, but this is as much as you'll get to eat). It is extremely laid back with an authentic retro style. The deco, the atmosphere, the music, the service.... it's all great.I strongly recommend a visit.
