When you live with a pastie lover, you visit a lot of bakeries and stopping at Bunbury for one on our way down to Margaret River is a long standing ritual. Fortunately, the bakery that had previously provided somewhat average pasties had closed down, so we went in search of another and found The Passionate Baker. <br/ <br/ I had to agree with the pastie lover when he said it was the best meat pastie he can remember having they were stuffed full and the pastry was buttery and flakey (not so much the veggie one a little dry for my liking). <br/ <br/ On our trip back to Perth, we also had the largest pink iced vanilla slice I've ever seen and a not too bad custard and cream filled eclair. <br/ <br/ I loved the place most definitely worth a visit and our new pastie pit stop on the way down south!
Just had a superb smoked salmon bagel! Would recommend to not eat in here though... Each item has higher prices if you're dining in, which doesn't make too much sense given its not table service (go up and collect your food with a buzzer).
I visit Bunbury on a regular occasion for work and I use to always buy coffee and rolls in town centre. I recently seen The Passionate Baker so thought I would give it a try. Coffee would have to be the best in town and the fresh Chicken and Salad roll for lunch was the best. The bread from this shop is awesome and it will now be the place I get my coffee from. And one more thing the friendly young girl who served me at lunch time was fabulous, Thanks guys
Great place. Best thing they did was get Clint on board. The guy is brilliant with his customer service and his holsrious sense of humour. The food is lovely and new premises are stunning. Would highly recommend this place.
