Some dishes were on the pricier side, but we opted for a tofu dish and an aubergine dish, each costing around RMB 15. However, both dishes were quite oily. We were surprised by the high cost of adding rice to our meal, as it was not listed on the menu and we were charged RMB 10 for two small bowls. Overall, it wasn't the best meal we've had but it's a decent option if you're visiting the temple nearby.
Bamboo Temple is a charming and serene spot, perfect for a peaceful afternoon. Although I haven't dined at the restaurant itself, I have enjoyed the simple meals served where the monks eat. For a small fee of 5 or 10 kuai (I can't quite recall), you can enjoy a plate of rice, vegetables, and potato. The food may be simple but it is tasty, and the outdoor stone tables provide a lovely setting. I plan to try the restaurant on my next visit, but keep in mind that the temple closes early, so it's best to arrive early for dinner.
The restaurant had a beautiful garden area. Even though the staff didn't speak English, there was an English menu available. The menu had some expensive dishes and tea but we opted for the tofu and eggplant dishes, which were only around RMB 15 each. The dishes were quite oily and we were surprised by the additional charge of RMB 10 for rice, not mentioned on the menu. Overall, it wasn't the best meal but it was decent enough for a casual visit after exploring the temple.
Bamboo tempel is a beautiful, small and very quiet tempel, ideal for a relaxed afternoon. I was not in the actual restaurant, but the two paintings I went there, I asked for food and they brought me where the monks go to eat. they pay 5 or 10kuai (not remember) and they give them a teller with rice and various types of sweet, kartoffels, etc. very simple meal but good and they can eat outside on the stones. for the restaurant I will try to eat it when I go. the problem is that they close the tempel very soon so that they should go early to have dinner there.
