Problem: I was in my home turf of Fitzroy, where the Asian food is famously average at best. But hunger took over, I took a chance and boy am I glad I did... as a self confessed roast connoisseur I’ve had many (most? roast places in Melbourne in search of the char siu experience of my time in HK with no luck. Pacific house was my previous go to but it was a bit of a trek to the good branch in Richmond. Enter A&A. Ordered bbq pork and roast pork on rice and I was in heaven. Moist, sweet, juicy bbq pork and soft yet crispy roast pork. I’m home PS sorry for the half eaten food photo, I was too excited!
The food was fantastic. Wonton soup had 5 large wontons. Hot and sour soup was chock full of meats and shrimp. We had dim sum, which was fresh and good, but value for the money wasn't the best. $5.80 per plate is too steep, especially for some of the items on the menu. Graduated pricing would be better.
Traditional Hong Kong style food. Excellent service and tasty food. Crispy pork is my go to dish. Could have it on rice or with stir fry veggies and tofu. Reasonable price for all sorts of food. (Milk tea is yummy too)
Reasonably priced, decent flavour. Would eat again.
So good. Crispy pork is amazing, lunch time bbq pork is amazing. Will come again (and have been here before).
