The menu was varied with lots of options and everything sounded delicious. The building is a converted boathouse beautifully done with a warm and 'boaty ' atmosphere with indoor and outdoor dining options... It will be a lovely venue when the warmer weather arrives..The service staff were lovely and the food was fantastic with generous servings. My dukkah squid was delicious and eye fillet steak was high quality (a fraction overcooked for my requested medium-rare, but the meat quality forgave the time on the heat). Nice cheeseboard option too. We will definitely return.
We come here frequently so my review isn't based off one experience but many. Food is always quality here and even though the change the menu regularly I am always happy with what I order. Steak is usually my go to and it's never over cooked (a real hate of mine). Staff always super friendly and attentive. Last time I ate there was 3 weeks ago and I'm sure I'll be back shortly
My partner and I have been here twice recently. First time was for a nice romantic dinner (just the two of us) and second was for a birthday (group of six). Each and every meal that was ordered was extremely tasty using VG quality ingredients and very generous in size no expense spared. The meals on the menu are very different to other restaurant menus so you can be sure to order something that you haven't ordered before or something you're not tired of. They have a beautiful wine selection I'm a wine connoisseur so this is very important!! The restaurant is well presented and they have specials on a few days of the week ie. two courses glass wine $45. The staff are very friendly and attentive. There's nothing better than getting excellent value at a fairly average cost. The Boathouse is definitely a top restaurant within the Mornington Peninsula and southern Bayside regions. Highly recommend.
Sunday lunch with a companion. What a delight! We sat in on the deck at the rear of the restaurant backing onto the creek. A sharing platter, plate of pasta each and a lemon meringue pie to finish topped off with some interesting craft beer. We sat out all afternoon the service was friendly, no rush to be finished and no trouble swapping items to suit vegetarian. The lemon meringue was amazing real tart lemon flavour! Highly recommend going but be warned the serving sizes are HUGE! It is a little pricy though $200 for two <br/ <br/ Food: 0.8<br/ Drink: 0.8<br/ Service: 0.8<br/ Ambiance: 1<br/ Price: 0.7<br/ <br/ 4.1 rounds down to 4.
Overlooking Kananook Creek is this lovely restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. In July we had to sit indoors of course. I had the sweet potato gnocchi in cheesy sauce which was lovely. The other dish was blue grenadier with vegetables which was good too. For dessert we had the quince and almond cake with honey treacle and ice cream which was delicious and the lemon tart. The only bad thing is the coffee which is not good quality. I'm told they have good wines. The service was efficient and overall a great experience and would come back.
