A dream come TRUE, that is.<br/ <br/ Sitting on the outskirts of the western suburbs Melbourne, my family and I decided to try this local winery for my brothers birthday. A three-course meal and drink/wine for $35? How could we turn down such a deal?<br/ <br/ I started with an entree of penne pasta, chose the Mediterranean chicken for a main (the chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy might I add), and finished with a chocolate mousse for dessert. Speaking on behalf of the dishes I personally ate, Food wise, the quality was quite good. Not incredible, but definitely worth the $35. <br/ <br/ The service I will say as definitely above average. The staff were super kind and friendly, welcoming and took note of my lactose intolerance and ensured all three of my meals were adapted to suit. <br/ <br/ To sum it up, Galli was a positive experience. Great for a local feast with your immediate family who aren’t too picky or adamant on a fancy meal. Super satisfying and hits the spot if you’re looking for that, fancy-because-it’s-a-winery, but-seeking-a-home-cooked-meal kinda vibe. Also great if you’re always seeking an impressive deal and value for your buck.<br/ <br/ Special mention: Galli does provide a wonderful ambience and view overlooking the winery. I would suggest dining around sunset and you can have a beautiful setting to enjoy with your meal!<br/ <br/ Food: 3.5/5<br/ Service: 4/5<br/ Ambience: 3.5/5<br/ Value: 4/5<br/ <br/ Overall: 3.5/5
For my daughter's birthday dinner we selected Galli based on not having been there for years and a desire to go somewhere nice to make up for not being there on the day due to work flights.<br/ The evening started well with cheery and confident wait staff, who not only helped select good dishes but were able to convey to the Chef our daughters need for Gluten free meals. A fresh set of cooking equipment was arranged and new bread brought out quickly, whilst the staff-selected Block II Shiraz to accompany my meal was stunningly good.<br/ Half a dozen Oysters Kilpatrick to start and we weren't dissappointed. A touch hot in heat however flavours and texture spot-on. Dinner was not far behind. A children's meal of Chicken and Chips was solid but very high-quality. My daughter ordered the Kids Seafood and was absolutely amazing in its size, composition and quality. 2 MASSIVE prawns nestled on a bed of chips with beautiful butterfish and squid cooked to perfection. My wife had the French-cut Chicken which, whilst looking very simple, surprised with its rustic presentation and subtle flavours. I ordered the Reef and Beef which, whilst accompanied with 3 prawns who again had clearly been steroid abusers also had a small salad on the side. Steak was right where rare needed to be and prawns were excellent however the jus was not what I expected leaning more towards a gravy flavour and less towards the red wine as advertised. Nonetheless a great meal accompanied by that Shiraz offered earlier.<br/ Dessert to follow was Apple Cake for the lovely wife and my standard Sticky Date Pudding. Mrs A elected to have coffee whilst I asked for a nice Galway port to wash down my SDP.<br/ As an example of Sticky Date Pudding goes this was very very good. The sauce was incredible and the pudding itself wonderful the glutton in me certainly wanted more. Mrs A's Apple Cake was the top student. Light, fluffy, Apple flavored cake with a custard was simply divine and well worth devouring.<br/ <br/ I would like to see some spirit of adventure on the menu with most meals being examples of standard fare with better than normal finishing. Some Italian choices like goat or rabbit would be great.<br/ <br/ All up the Galli is an excellent choice for diners of all ages with superb quality and great service.
Honestly, the best experience I have had in a long time.<br/ My fiance, sister in law, and her husband chose the set 3 course meal.<br/ <br/ All were delicious, we had no complaints.<br/ <br/ The entree calamari was cooked perfectly, the calamari was soft, and was a great start to the meal.<br/ <br/ The main barramundi was cooked to perfection, and everything on the plate complimented eachother.<br/ <br/ The main chicken parma was very tasty.<br/ <br/ The chocolate mess dessert was delicious.<br/ <br/ The ambiance of the restaurant was wonderful.<br/ <br/ The staff were efficient, fast and professional.<br/ <br/ I will definetly come again.<br/ <br/
I came here for a 50th birthday with meals Pre selected so I would definitely like to go back where I can choose my own entrees and main.My entree was the tortellini which had no flavour and could have used a little more cooking the lamb for dinner I couldn’t fault it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing the downfall was it took an hour and a half to get the mains after our entrees were cleared which for me a I could wait but when you have kids that just want to eat it’s a long while to make them wait without food.Dessert nothing special the birthday cake was better then the dessert that was provided by galli
Nice food. Yummy Almond encrusted crumb on their fish and Parma.Could have easily had bigger servings for the alacarte price. But worth it with their lunch packagesService was good and the location is well decorated. There was a party on at the time so music was on and the dancefloor was utilised.
