One customer is told to wait in line at the cash register while another is served at the counter. No apology when they are told about their inconsistent service.
I like the coffee taste in here. Friendly staff. They have small cute backyard as well
Decent place for a coffee and catchup with friends with good selection of pastries. However, it's not the first time I've found it hard to find a clean table.
Balwyn seems like a desert for breakfast early on a Saturday morning. I came looking for good coffee and and a toasted sandwich. Instead I had a bacon and egg ciabatta. It didn’t disappoint. And the coffee was great too.
Laurent is well known around Melbourne for its high quality food, cakes and cafes. It had been a long time between visits and it won’t be in the future. On a Sunday morning, this place was almost full with people having brunch, a coffee, lunch, reading newspapers, grabbing some takeaway or like me, picking up some macaroons as a gift. I would’ve liked to have taken more photos but it’s not always cool to snap pictures of the food on display. And doubt I could do what’s on offer justice anyway. The cakes and sweet treats are amazing and although not cheap, they are excellent. There is also a large range of croissants, rolls, foccacias and more. Coffee is pretty good.Staff are extremely helpful even when rushed off their feet as they were on Sunday morning.Laurent in Balwyn is kid friendly (including high chairs). It’s also wheelchair accessible. Parking out the front isn’t too bad – depending on the time of day. There are morning restrictions for city bound traffic.
