The restaurant has a lot of authentic Shanghainese dishes. The flavour of the pork belly was amazing, just as good as what I had in shanghai, the fired eel was a bit too salty but. The fried buns was yummy and I think it tastes better than Xiaolongbao. Generally speaking, pretty happy with the restaurant.
We came here to have some dumplings but they were about to close for the day for we ordered them for take away instead. It took around 12 mins for them to prepare 2 of our dishes. We felt like it was a bit long. However, the pork buns were really nice and really like it.
The one post in emporium you do not want to miss in Emporium! What we usually get at New Shanghai is their dumplings with chilli and peanut sauce, stir fried noodles, stir fried crispy beef and the list goes on. The dumplings with chilli and peanut sauce is really good as you get a mixture of savoury and slightly sweet flavours.<br/ <br/ The crispy beef is really good and it goes really well with rice or noodles. The staff is lovely here and the decor is nice as well. They do get quite busy, be sure to book before you visit.
I did not expect much from this spot but the veg dumplings are actually really great. They're big and bursting with veg and the skins are really nice. Service was a bit slow but staff were extremely friendly and the space is surprisingly pleasant for a food court.
