Paon Restaurant Bar - La Costa

Always a fantastic dining experience. We celebrated our anniversary in style with delicious food and beverages. So glad to have this restaurant close by. Looking forward to our next visit.

It was wonderful. They were out of a few food items. Service was excellent. You go here for a nice wine dinner, but I noticed no meursault at a French restaurant. Odd. Also, the tomato burrata left something to be desired. The hamachi dish was dry. Entrees of duck confit and Chilean sea bass were excellent but with the duck they lacked sweet potato puree and that's pretty important to that dish. Maybe next time their menu will have all items. It was $300 for 2 people to split a bottle of wine, 3 mediocre apps and two entrees. Just saying.

Paon continues to be a great restaurant. Was disappointed in some items no longer on the menu such as the salad with pears now with apple. One of our guests must eat gluten free and the flourless cake was no longer available.

The pheasant was fabulous, as usual. The special fish, which our friends had (I believe it was Halibut? was out of this world. We had the Walnut crusted goat cheese appetizer. Definitely a MUST! Can't wait to revisit!!

We had another memorable evening at Paon. Our service, food, and drinks were perfect, and the ambiance on the patio was lovely. Thank you to the entire Paon staff for your outstanding hospitality!
