(Needless to say that I wired the money that evening). The food was all from local providers and Larzac traditional (Charcuteries, Lamb, Aligot, Aubrac beef, Roquefort). The menu is simple, but they have vegetarian and children platters . The meat is cooked in the fireplace in the middle of the restaurant and served to perfection. We added teh Aligot and the Roquefort sauce extras. A nice, relaxed and family atmosphere and a great vacation experience.
Very limited choice on the menu and out of the 3 main dishes(meat, fish or veggie, besides the meat grill option) they didn’t have the fish! Since we don’t eat meat,my husband chose the veggi option and I a starter with cheese. The veggie dish was a mix of all things that seemed like leftovers and not very tasty. My starter was fine but nothing more to say about it. There was no sign of extra hygiene concerning the Covid 19 requirements. Our table was sticky and no alcohol gel at the entrance. When we paid for our meal the waitress decided to keep the 5,5€ change and only returned our bill to the table. The only nice thing was the dog of the restaurant, which was pushed away roughly by the staff each time they passed him.
10 minute drive to nearest Bank...and you would have to pay exit parking of 4 euros....surprising stance..other restaurant in village excepting cards...i have been to the village before...i thank last time we had cash..
We stopped at the Couvertoirade on our road trip and were looking for something different. Ended up here and ordered some wine, the goat's cheese salade, the Aveyronaise plate with Aligot (mashed potato and cheese! and a selection of blue cheese, paté and other delicacies. Discovered pink praline (and raspberry pie which I think is the best dessert I've had in a while. Heading back that way on our trip home. Looking to try another restaurant in the village to see can we get lucky twice?
Beautiful setting, shady garden with views of the village or vaulted room with fireplace, charming service and great food-barbecued meats, aligot, and excellent vegetarian platter, refreshing with much variety and interesting spicing, even appreciated by meat-eaters! Delicious homemade desserts like tiramisu and pain perdu-a real find in a one of the most beautiful villages in France!
