Cashew chicken was way TOO SWEET last time we dined in a week ago. Sugar in this dish is unnecessary. Could not enjoy it and ended up tossing it out. Im not ordering that next time. I'll probably pass on the king pao chicken as it was also too sweet; not at all spicy. Someone else commented about the hot n sour soup. We like it but we ask them to leave out the shrimp.
TIP: When ordering the sweet and sour pork, always ASK them to bring the sauce out separately. In the past, they always gave it tp us in a separate bowl so we dipped the amount of sauce we wanted, but we couldn't even eat it. The pictures show how much sauce they poured over the battered pork that we couldn't salvage it. By the time I brought it home it was more like jelly and threw the whole thing out. When I asked them why they brought it out poured on top they said we need to request that when ordering. Good to know and lesson learned after throwing away the most expensive thing we ordered.
I was going to skip the review and just make a note to myself to never go here again but the hot and sour soup threw me off the edge. It was probably the worst soup I 've ever tasted with the most random ingredients in it- like the chef was thinking these peas and carrots are going bad.... Let 's just toss them in..... this shrimp too! What the hell?! Almost all the other dishes were overly sweet- the house beef, orange chicken, Mongolian beef, kung Pao chicken- all too damn sweet! Such a disaster (and extremely overpriced) dinner. I feel bad to give a 1 star review to a small business but hopefully they see this and make some changes.
Literally the best wonton soup. I crave it all the time. Also staff if super friendly and warm. The other food options are really good too. Portions are BIG! So excellent for sharing!
Look at Bruce H. review . This idiot said the food at House of Joy got him sick but was in Mexico a week before and he was fine. No moron, Mexico got you sick and you started to have symptoms when you got home. Common sense Brucey.
