The prices aren't so high because we're talking about La Jolla here. I haven't eaten much since Kovid, but I've got a lot to go.
Split a burger, it was great! We ate before going to LA Jolla Playhouse. Recommend when going to the La Jolla Playhouse. Friendly service.
It was fun to go to James even though the service was limited. We ordered at the counter and then they brought the food over but we could order other things through the servers. Staff is always very welcoming and very engaging. Food was good and consistent. Prices were very reasonable for quality of the food. The menu is still limited however.
The sushi was very good. The place was crowded pre-theater, so although Valerie was a good server, I waited a while before I was acknowledged. I would definitely return, but I would plan and advise theater goers to make reservations and go 1 and a half hours before curtain. The setting is lovely and the menu is varied. In addition to salads, seafood, pastas there is a nice sushi selection, but no sake???!!! Reasonable pricing, great service should definitely encourage you to visit this spot.
Really delicious food, properly cooked, nicely seasoned, lovely sauces, correct portions. Also, sushi... Good room ambience. Simple furniture adequately sized and spaced so even crowded it's not loud. Very accommodating friendly wait staff. Take a compass for the bathroom location, the sign really says EXIT, but only leads through the back of the theater next door.
