Thai Gulf By Aroi Thai - La Jolla

I've been ordering from AROI for years, and they consistently meet or surpass my expectations. Today was no exception. Whether it's their red curry, which offers layer upon layer of deep, comforting flavors; their curry puffs with a wonderfully flaky exterior and rich, soft filling; or my sometimes unreasonable requests for elevated spice levels that aren't on the menu, I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. They also deserve bonus points for their Thai Iced Tea, which perfectly balances the tea flavor with sweetness, and their mango sticky rice, a classic that never disappoints. For fans of AROI, Thai Gulf has everything you love and even more.

The restaurant is in a great location with plenty of good food choices. The service is excellent. However, the food is just average and could use some improvement. I found the fried tofu to be overcooked and quite dry. The vegetarian tom yum soup was tasty, but it could benefit from a greater variety of vegetables. My husband mentioned that the shrimp were cooked perfectly.

This Thai restaurant is truly one of the best I've ever experienced—definitely a solid 100 out of 10! The staff is incredibly friendly, and if you enjoy spicy food, this place is perfect for you. The dishes are exceptional, bursting with authentic Thai spices and presented beautifully. Dream was fantastic, providing outstanding service and assistance. You won't find a better Thai restaurant near San Diego; that’s a guarantee!

Worst Thai food I?ve had. Thought it would be decent due to location ? the pad thai was literally inedible due to the noodles being so chewy. Everything else was either very average or sub-par at best.

This place is excellent. The location is great, the service is spectacular. Everyone is very friendly. The food came to our table very quickly. The food is amazing. Some of the best Thai cuisine I have ever tasted; and I?ve eaten Thai food everywhere. Highly recommend you try this place.
