When I went to the small town, I searched my dash GPS unit to find the restaurant, but without too avail. I started to believe that I had arrived in the wrong city, so I asked SIr instead. She found it for me. Lucy is a rather strange place. On a street corner in the city, right outside the main corridor, lay a restaurant building and a trailer next to it, with a small parking lot and a few picnic benches. The windows of the building are with promo related to Lucy's, but inside the building is only a toilet and a few rooms used for storage. The restaurant is actually just the trailer in the parking lot, so it is really more of a taco truck and can explain why my GPS couldn't find it. After all the Nabenbub it was time to order. I pinned the quite extensive curbside menu and decided on some grilled chicken tacos, with the token sides of fried beans and rice. My last experience with Tacos in Colorado Springs was not too good, but as this place recommended I wanted to try again. The two guys in the trailer have taken my order and I could conquer some Spanish language with them. Shortly afterwards, my meal was served in a portion of Styrofoambox. The opening of the box gave a beautiful smell and very attractive dish with lots of color and fresh tomatoes and salad cover the chicken. I dug in the midst of the joyful chef singing together to Mariachi music in the trailer. The recommendation was on site. The tacos were delicious, especially with green Chile, like rice. The beans were not watery like the last batch I had, and had a dusting of cheese for extra taste. Lucy was nowhere to find unless one of the guys in the trailer was Cross Dressing, but if she had been there, I could have personally thanked her for restoring my belief in Mexican food. Two forks up!
OMG! I am from Arizona, currently living in Illinois and this is the best authentic Mexican food ever! I ate there three times while I visited my sister! So good food!!! I miss it now!
Whenever my sweetheart and I go to Lucys, we are never disappointed! To no incident he ordered a #2 Chicken Tacos dinner and I a #4 Carne asada tacos (my favorites). We ate there last night! The portions are so plentiful, I usually have leftovers for the next day... as long as he doesn't come to them. Well, yeah! We like to eat at Lucys! I recommend it a lot. Go on!
Definitely the best place to eat in La Junta. Whenever we work in the city, it's the first place we go!
Awesome chicken tacos, big portions and friendly, fast service!
