Forbearance!
Overpriced, not overpriced. a lot! we wanted to order a bottle of wine; only bottles and from 350 menus 300 pages we had to insist on seeing the card, otherwise we would not have known it). furniture was cheap, no other guests. in the restaurant (if a warning had been), paper serviettes with amuses. no problem to have a nice dinner with a good wine, but 1200 for two people; starter, pornstar, coffee and good bottle wine; a big sweat! o, the waiter does not forget to mention the bill without service. Of course! never back, don't go there!
The restaurant is a complete one. there are no menù. we ordered some raw fish as starters that consisted in 1 oysters and 3 garnels. a cure of pasta with soulless soul! pasta was so bad that we had to send back to the kitchen. we ordered the cheapest wein who was 150 euro. no desert, no coffee, they pay 300 euro per person! no apologies from the manager of the restaurant. a fall for tourist!
I'm gonna go. very expensive! bad service! we were robbed! stay away! 300 eur pro person for pasta!
The restaurant is beautiful. There is no way around this. If it were an exclusive Aman or Nobu property, it would be impossible to get a table. The food and service were absolutely perfect. That being said, I understand the negative reviews. It is scary...to be seated with an expensive wine list, and no idea of what prices to expect ahead. The meal is ruined because of nervousness; we came in totally new without having read reviews. If the product were better explained, I think it would be a spot not to be missed on the planet. Our lunch was absolutely reasonably priced, in our opinion. Of course, it is expensive. It is a high end product on a private paradise. As the director told us, it is an island in a chain of islands on an island. We had an error on fish; I couldn’t eat my main course for lunch as a result, which was handled very professionally. I tasted the table’s pasta instead, and it was as delicious as every other element of the meal. I left satisfied, despite a missed dish. This is what to expect, based on our day: We were picked up from the buoy and brought to the pier. We walked up to the restaurant, but there is also a golf buggy that brings you to and from the pier. Beautiful walk, amazing setting, and gorgeous ambience. We were greeted and guided up to the roof terrace. (We would have liked a welcome drink or aperitif, but this is not available; only the wine list is offered The wine list was delivered. Our jaws dropped at both the options and prices, but fortunately one of our favorite wines (Gavi di Gavi) was on hand at a fair price to boot! (Unfortunate to spend a review talking about money, but it’s hard to have a lunch in the dark on finances for me The waitress then tried to explain how our meal was to play out. This left us very confused, and scared about potential costs after seeing the wine list prices. We were terrified to enjoy, because we had no gauge of how deep the rabbit hole goes. But let me say- don’t be scared. It’s more like consulting with your own private chef and stewardess, planning your lunch. Start with beautiful canapés, enjoy raw choices if you choose, as you choose, and then have the option to have your raw choices incorporated into your pasta dish if you want- or choose to have a separate main dish, altogether. Of course if you want rare and expensive ingredients, the meal will be priced as such. We chose more typical ingredients (langoustine and oysters). The idea is to make your entire meal selection as you take a first sip of your beautiful wine, and then let the lunch play out. (As I said, our film was mostly suspense and terror- regrettably so After your canapés and raw bar (or whatever you choose to start), you are then transferred to the lovely, garden terrace vibe table below. Excellent bread is delivered for scarpetta, or, eating at once as I did. Then came the meals. My dish looked flawless even though I didn’t get to taste it. Pasta had creamy burrata and the fresh langoustine. Fantastic. Little petit fours finished our lunch; we were all too full and nervous to taste the real a la carte items. Then came the bill: 460 Euros for three people. My fish was deducted. We were all relieved, and pleased. It was actually less than Nikki Beach; and we would have ordered and paid more, having known at the start what we know now. In fact, we said we would go back again the next day if we had time, so we wouldn’t be afraid to try anything. This place is recommended, though they definitely can improve how they present their concept and product. Once that is improved, I don’t think any more low star reviews would come this way.
