Los Gomez - La Orotava

Informal. No fancy but traditional and very good. Fresh and flavourful food. Fresh meat without processing. The staff is very nice, people from Tenerife. Being served by cosy and local people is on another level.

We came here to experience a typical restaurant, knowing that this is a rural place. Very simple place, no special decoration besides yellow walls and the staff was very friendly. We ate grilled cheese, ropa vieja , 1kg pork chop (in that night they didn 't had smaller chop... and a bottle of house red wine. We liked the food, but the ropa vieja was a bit salty. The bill was 23 Eur: we consider it cheap, even considering the simple and informal place. It 's a good local experience for those who doesn 't mind to eat in a very simple place, with very simple people.

We were a group of 4 adults who visited this guachinche for the first time on 10 December 2019. We are regular visitors to Tenerife and accustomed to eating in guachinches. This one was a little out of the way, but we wanted to give it a try based on the good reviews. We were the first customers to arrive for lunch, and even by the time we left it wasn't busy. despite this, the service was somewhat inattentive and the man who served us was definitely lacking in communication skills as well as people skills! We ordered queso asado, croquetas, huevos estampidos and ropa vieja. These were all adequate, but I have tasted better elsewhere. The only meat options were pork (no chicken, rabbit, goat etc), which none of us wanted. The wine was good and the bill was very reasonable, so it was good value for money. Overall though, I don't think we will be returning as there are other places out there with better quality food and more choices available.

Typical Canarian homemade food, great rations of good quality and very good price. in the middle of a vineyard, large and with lots of parking. highly recommended!

One of the best guachinches in La Orotava. Nice food and service and their own mojo recipe is one of my favourites. Great selection of fresh meats and lovely red wine.
