It's in a small town that he described as a fishing village that's very close to La Spezia (by boat, at least). He told us that it was a restaurant where he liked to go with his family. Everything we ate was fantastic: Marinated anchovies Pasta with clams Trofie (another kind of pasta) with pesto Fried calamari Since the lunch was included in our tour, we didn't see a bill. We actually didn't see a menu or a wine list either. White wine, almost certainly a local Vermentino, was served in a small pitcher on the table and was delicious. Portions were generous. And the setting—the restaurant's roof deck, overlooking the Gulf of Poets—was absolutely beautiful.
Me and my fiancé was really disappointed by this place since we've been to such great places in this neighborhood. The service was not good at all, she forgot us all the time, we ordered wine that we didn't get for 20 min so we had an empty table besides for the very dry bread. We don't mind if the staff is Italian speaking only, but then it's very important that you try to connect with us as costumers, and we didn't get that feeling here. The food was OK, tuna was made well done without asking and the pasta had a lot of taste of butter which is none of my favorite. They could have made this place so wonderful with the terass, it's a shame that they light it up that much so there is no cozy atmosphere. It's also a reason why we had about 1 million flies around/on/under our table, in the glass and under our clothes. With a neighbourhood with so many good places, I would wait to visit this one.
I've been in this restaurant very randomly. The builduing itself is very nice, with a terrace and very close to the sea. We had spaghetti with vongole and black trofie with shrimps, both very good. And then fried calamari. Everything as you would expect good food is. Tartufo icecream with pistacchio flavour as dessert was spectacular. Price very reasonable. Thank you barbara. Good job
Abbiamo mangiato veramente bene.
Eheheh Torneremo!
