In the evening the rain began, but it was quite cozy under the covered part of the restaurant with the heaters. I haven't been able to see any changes in the menu since last year, which is a pity. I went to start the Assiette iberico belotta, but was informed a little later that it was not available, but that a tapas dish was available from ham chorizo and cheese. That wasn't half as good as I remember the Assiette, but at least it was cheaper. P began with the aumoniere de chevre they enjoyed. She continued with a burger she enjoyed and I had the calfsniere that was pretty good. We have to share with apple cake. The dessert sections are massive and half of one is quite enough, even for us. This was the last weekend the restaurant and the campsite opened, and it was in the number of menu items that were no longer available. On our second evening there was no caffeine wine, but we had a pretty good organic red from Gers. Service is always very professional here and in good weather the view cannot be improved.
We stopped in for lunch after visiting the Dune and everything about the experience was terrific. The restaurant is inside a campground, so you need to get access from the reception desk so you can enter the grounds and park. The restaurant itself is situated...with a big outdoor deck overlooking the ocean with a view of Banc d'Arguin. Our North American eating timetable served us well; when we arrived at 12:30 there was plenty of seating but when we departed the place was almost full. Service was good; the staff were friendly and helpful. The food itself was exceptional. My wife had a tasty pasta with sun-dried tomatoes and ham, and I had the plate of the day: lamb chops. The meat was a bit tough (as is most meat in France, I find) but the flavour was outstanding. As an added bonus, midway through our meal the parasailers started gliding by, providing entertainment as we ate.
We ate here twice on a 2 week stay. Both times service was attentive without being pushed and the staff was great with the children. Sat outside on the terrace as soon as it became cold, but the staff had quickly blankets. Menu selection is limited, but... what there is, everything is really well cooked and a good choice. House Carafes are a large small wine and good value. But the views would let you set up with quite everything!
What a great view! The food and service was very good, but you need to book and the tables with the best views will come first, served first by the reservation.
We went for the early tea for the birthday of our 6 year old. May the half-time not be too busy. No great choice for vegetarians, but the pizza I had was very nice, and the shells my other half was fabulous. And no bad prices. The...Kids menu was limited for a family campsite I felt so our chips had, but the service was friendly and attentive, and we had a nice meal.
