We visited this restaurant twice for lunch in the summer of 2013 and had menus at both €29 and €39. I realise that this sort of price is not the usual menu du jour price in many small French restaurants but, as always in life,...you get what you pay for. The restaurant is part of the hotel of the same name and is to be found in the Logis de France directory. The restaurant has 3 Cocottes under the group 's classification, and, to quote their definition an elegant restaurant and gastronomic fare enhancing the culinary arts and highly meticulous service. I wouldn 't disagree with this description. The food was both imaginative and of excellent quality. As well as the four listed courses a mis en bouche was offered to start and a trou cévenol chestnut ice cream with eau de vie followed the first course. The chef/ proprietor, Mr Abbé, is proud of his food, justifiably so, and enjoys chatting to his diners, a mixed blessing if you don 't speak French! The hotel is in a delightful setting in the Cévennes region of France, in beautiful scenery and is well worth a visit.
Nice country view outside captivating medieval town of Vezenobres. Lunch menu for 12 euros is very good value. Lady owner was very welcoming, server (son? not so much. Great shady spot off the beaten path.
This small hotel is a jewel in the hills north of ales. it was a challenging mountain trip for us cyclists, but the worth it. the hotel is located in a wooded, picturesque area, our rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet, and the beds were good,...We chose a half board plan. the dinner and the breakfast were both excellent and we thought the price was reasonable. the owners of the hotel were friendly and very courteous.
What a great meal with entertainment from our host. if it was only close to the country. we discovered this hidden gem during a motorcycle tour through france, a night and a meal was not enough.
