Marion's Eatery - Lacombe

It's been a while since we visited due to Covid restrictions and other life events, but we finally made it back to Marion's for the Sunday buffet after quite some time. We're pleased to see they still offer the buffet, and as always, it was a fantastic meal. The food is homemade and delicious, and we were so glad we went. The fresh pot of coffee was the perfect touch. Thank you for providing such a wonderful and friendly dining experience!

Another strange aspect was the complete lack of background noise—no music, no radio—just silence. It was unsettling; every word we spoke echoed throughout the restaurant. Instead of feeling peculiar, it felt downright creepy. I couldn't quite pinpoint it, but the atmosphere was definitely off. We waited what felt like an eternity for our meals, and the two servers seemed overwhelmed and unable to provide adequate service by any standard. While the prices were reasonable, they weren't extraordinary either. When it came time to pay, the server rang us up at the front counter, so we didn't have a chance to review our bill, and I strongly suspect we missed out on the senior discount for my mother-in-law's meal. By that point, it didn't matter—we just wanted to leave. We won't be going back. If you're in the area and need breakfast, A&W offers a better meal at a better price.

The waitress was rude and unaccommodating, often turning her back to the dining area. I ordered the beef dip, but the dipping sauce was so salty that I couldn't use it. I believe this restaurant has potential, or it wouldn’t still be in business. However, I can’t shake the feeling of being unwell after my meal. Perhaps I should have just opted for a salad instead.

We had an amazing lunch experience. The food was outstanding, and the staff were fantastic. I've been there before, and it has consistently met my expectations. If you haven't been, you definitely need to give it a try!

I enjoyed a delicious, hearty chef's salad along with tomato basil soup. I was quite hungry and ended up eating everything except for the bun because I was too full!
