Good German cuisine, regional dishes and good quality of food as well as quantity

We were on 1st yesterday. Christmas day there for lunch. We reserved ourselves for our family about 4 weeks ago (17 people) and our tables later agreed. Unfortunately, we could not sit on a table, but were divided into 3 tables. Not very beautiful, but feasible. I'd have been glad I called on the phone before. But be it. It became more difficult to order. The service staff was somewhat overwhelmed, but they can do that at least for the situation. First we got a Christmas card with about 25 different dishes. Wines or other drinks were not on the map. Only if the service wanted to pick up the drinks, you noticed. We have a wine card and can order everything together. In my opinion, the lady of the staff did everything well, but it didn't help. The chaos came: with us it was that with some of the appetizers came with the main course, others had the food before the drinks, some were forgotten salads or appetizers. But since we didn't want to fool the day, we did it with humor. The food itself was good and delicious. I'd give you four stars. But overall there were no more than 3 stars. For the boss: less is sometimes more. Either fewer guests or more employees! No: Smoking area right behind the entrance door! I think that something like this is still allowed today. Nothing against smokers! It's great that there are still restaurants that have such areas. But I don't think they belong directly to the entrance where everyone has to go through when he wants to go to the local.

We had reserved a table for 3 people about 6 weeks ago. No reservations were reported today (25.12.22). The staff had no real pleasure and was overwhelmed with the situation. If it's minus stars, then for the service 20 minus stars. We have places in another restaurant with good luck. Never again!
