Great Harvest Bread Co. - Lafayette

Even before you get something to eat, you can tell the food is fresh. Everything smells, tastes, and looks good. I could tell from the first bite that the bread is going to be addictive. They have a wide selection of freshly baked bread and friendly, knowledgeable staff.

In my experience, the food is good, consistent, and fairly priced. Service at this location has been hit or miss. Today I ordered through the app and arrived a few minutes after the estimated pick up time to find that my order had not been started. There wasn’t any apology for the inconvenience and the cashier just said that it would be a few more minutes because she had not heard the online order come through and it had not been started. I ordered over half an hour before I arrived and I did so for the convenience of my meal being ready upon pickup. This is the second time in the last two months that this has happened with an online order. Last time I had ordered over a hour in advance and was offered free “goodies” for the inconvenience. This time I was already sitting and waiting for a few minutes when the cashier asked from across the store if I want a slice of bread while I wait. I would much rather save my appetite for the sandwich I had been expecting than be given a slice of bread moments before the sandwich was ready. Maybe there should be a ticket that is printed directly to the kitchen for online orders if the staff at front of house can not effectively manage those tickets. There was no line or evidence of a recent rush when I walked in.

This is such a great place to eat lunch. You can definitely taste every bite. Oh and the sample taste of the daily fresh bread of the day at the beginning of your order. Every time we have stopped in everyone has been so welcoming.

It always smells delicious when I go in. I have to look all around and take in all the baked goods so I can decide what I want. Which is always more than I should have. Then I have to whittle down the list of all I want, to a reasonable amount. Staff is always so very pleasant. I'm always pleased with the items I get because when I get home to taste them they are always sooo GOOD!!!!

I stopped by to grab some lunch and ended up leaving with arms full of baked goods. I tell people I dont like bread (or cake), but the truth is that I'm just extremely picky with what kinds of bread I actually like. This place blew my mind. Absolutely delicious. And they had some free samples! I bought scones and teacake and cookies and rolls and two sandwiches. Each item was waaayyy better than I was expecting. Especially the scones, I never thought I would find a scone that is actually enjoyable. Also, the sandwhiches are easily in the top 5 best sandwiches that I've ever had. I will definitely be returning here soon!
