Japengo - Lahaina

Seemed nice and great location. Had a reservation for 830 for 6, had to get pushed because someone from our party was under the weather. Get there at 815 to check in for 6 and they said the reservation is for four. Showed them the email, but the front staff couldn’t care less. They couldn’t e bothered, rude and made no attempt to try an accommodate. I’m no one special, but if the average guest at the hotel can’t even get in for a meal whats the point trying to sell us as returning family. Hyatt really misses the point of a family vacation I think these days the last few have left me rethinking the points. My small kids weren’t even going to really eat there had been fed the downstairs crisps. Just sit and there was plenty of space. Left great thing was everything else shut down and getting around the island left with no options enjoyed the downstairs crisps myself.

Service was fantastic. Staff was very friendly and informative. Views are amazing if you can get a seat outside. Would highly recommend the pork buns appetizer.

Ford is not that good. Maybe it's because we are Asian from LA but it was expensive and tasted average.

P.S: A Long Awaited Late Review That Was Pending A Year Ago If I have to give this place 20 stars I would. We celebrated my birthday here and I was pleased with the service we had. I am gonna give each dish a rating but in all honesty, everything was heavenly. *insert halo emoji* (bc yelp still won't add emojis lol The atmosphere of this beautiful restaurant gives off this type of eccentricity not like others I have seen at night. When you first enter the venue, the vibrant lighting set the tone for the dinner setting. I personally think they designed it well. I am excited to come back! : Mahalo Japengo!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience at Japengo. We had reservations and were seated promptly on time. Our server was cheerful and attentive. Cocktails, appetizers, and entrees were delivered timely and the evening was very enjoyable. All of the food was delicious.
