Amazing food and great, friendly service.I got the Crabcake Breakfast Bowl with crawfish sauce on top (a prefect addition recommended by the lady that took our order), and my wife got the Sundial. Both were perfect! The only bad thing is that I don't think that I will be able to try new things here because I won'tbe able to pass up an opportunity to eat to eat the Crabcake bowl. It's too perfect to take a chance on anything else.
This is a place for locals to waste an entire morning meeting up to gossip. The table next to me was a large group of men gossiping/cussing loudly. It's not a place for a traveler to grab some good coffee/breakfast and be on their way. Waaaay overpriced. You order at a coffee counter for your coffee/food. I ordered a 16 ounce pumpkin latte half-sweet and pumpkin beignets. The latte tasted like they filled the cup with pure corn syrup and heated it up. Definitely not half sweet. The beignets were 3 plain, average beignets with a little sauce cup filled with spiced syrup for dipping. I was under the impression that there would be something pumpkin about the actual beignet. I have no idea what the prices are because there is not an itemized receipt. It's just a generic credit card receipt. The card reader seems to force you to tip up front with a 20% minimum tip before you can even decide if a tip is deserved. I supposedly got a military discount, but again, I have no idea since there is not an itemized receipt. All I know is that I got charged $15.34 plus a $2.93 tip for a total of $18.27. The food is handled in a completely different room between a cook and a lady running call-inn orders back and forth to the front door. The communication between the food room, coffee counter/register, and a to-go customer is non-existent. Once the coffee counter/register hands you your coffee, they act like your order is complete, leaving you wondering if your food was forgotten. The coffee took long enough, but another 15 minutes after the coffee someone finally showed up with a paper bag containg my beignets. Lots of standing and sitting in several different places hoping the employees noticed I was still there wating on something. I drank most of my heated syrup while waiting for the beignets. I went to Chick Fil A and got brewed coffee to dilute what was left of the syrup. I'll go to PJs if I'm in Lake Charles again.
Great beignets! Tasty dough and nice density (no air pockets). Fantastic! Staff was also super kind when I had a family emergency phone call (everything was fine).
It’s the service for me!If you’re always busy and want a moment to be cared for come here. It’s comfort breakfast food and great coffee! The ambiance is cozy and everyone is happy to serve you :
Lovely coffee shop! Price reflects quality. Hollander sauces are the cleanest label flavoring and appreciate having them! Also a double shot in a 12oz drink is a plus! Avacado toast was good. Warm welcoming staff and clean nice atmosphere. Thank you for being a “worth it” stop on our travels:
