The Local - Lake Jackson

The Mac and Cheese was absolutely amazing. The cheese sauce had the perfect béchamel consistency, with just the right amount of cheese—not too thick, not too thin. The addition of applewood smoked bacon and panko breadcrumbs took it over the top! We were astonished by the generous portion size, but there wasn’t a bite left once we finished. The Chicken Artichoke dish was equally impressive. The chicken was tender and flavorful, perfectly seasoned, with a nice crispy coating. The highlight of the plate, however, was the two small risotto cakes served beneath balsamic tomatoes. Wow! I’ve dined at some of the finest restaurants globally, and this risotto ranks among the best I’ve tasted anywhere. The herbal notes were prominent and added great depth, complemented by the white wine and caper sauce. Overall, The Local truly impressed us, and we will definitely return the next time we’re in the Lake Jackson area.

This restaurant is my favorite place to eat, so it was an obvious choice for my wedding! We had fried green tomatoes, the signature salad, pork chops, and sun-dried tomato basil chicken, along with mac and cheese and green beans for sides. Everything was AMAZING! Gaye did an incredible job! A well-fed bride is a happy bride!

This restaurant is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. It boasts an extensive menu, a fantastic atmosphere, excellent coffee, and a well-stocked bar.
