Zum Gasthaus - Lake Jackson

I visited a guest house located in a strip mall, with convenient parking right in front. I dined alone, and the restaurant was quite empty during the early lunch hours. I ordered the Jäger carving with potatoes, and it was delicious. While I felt it could have used a bit more seasoning, the mushrooms were cooked perfectly. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience reminiscent of a German fairy tale. I look forward to returning to check out their beer and wine selection.

The food was excellent, but there were issues with the atmosphere. It felt cluttered and had some items that needed to be cleared out. The front curtains were closed and should be opened to create a more inviting space. Once again, the food was truly delicious.

The food was excellent. While the air conditioning could use some improvement, I attribute that to the landlord. The building itself is alright. The service was quick! The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. The carving was superb, and I particularly enjoyed the roasted potatoes! We had dinner; my beef roll was outstanding, and my companion's carving was very flavorful. I would definitely return.

My husband and I recently ordered meals from Zum Gasthaus via Door Dash. The food is as fresh as in the restaurant. And, boy, oh boy, it's good! I love hunter scavengers, sour wort, lentil soup and potato salad! I would have had a picture with my post, but I would like the food before I even have a chance to take a picture of it. Try it. You won't regret it.

Had lunch there today and we were pleasantly surprised. I had the goulash and my husband had the beef roll. It came with red cabbage, noodles and gravy, peas, and pan fried potatoes. I substituted sauerkraut for the red cabbage, but the red cabbage was better then the kraut. The meat was super tender and the flavors were good. Peas were a bit bland but not bad. My daughter had the schnitzel from the kids menu and it was huge and very tasty. We had 2 German beers (Franziskaner Weizen and Oktoberfest Paulaner) and they were good. I'm from Germany and I tend to be critical of German food, but I was not disappointed here. We'll be back! Oh yeah, the young man that waited on us was very friendly and efficient. Thank you for a nice experience!
