Casa Vallarta Mexican - Lake Katrine

Unbelievable. I tried to call twice, but the loud music made it impossible for anyone to hear me. So I decided to drive over to place my order in person. I clearly requested two soft tacos with only cheese and tomatoes, two large beef and cheese burritos, and a chicken burrito. The guy even confirmed my order before finalizing it. Naturally, when I got home, I found that my order was completely wrong. I have no idea what this item is in the attached photo—it looks like a burrito. Plus, the tacos were hard and had lettuce on them. Everything was incorrect. It's really frustrating to pay that much for food and get it all wrong!

I'll keep it brief. I had lunch at Casa Vallarta in the Town of Ulster/Lake Katrine today, and it was amazing. The restaurant was very clean and well-organized, the portions were generous, the service was courteous and fast, and the food was fresh. I have nothing but positive things to say. The complimentary chips and salsa were a delightful bonus. If you're in the mood for Mexican food, definitely give this place a try. I was truly impressed!

This is not authentic Mexican cuisine. While the food is edible, it doesn't capture the true essence of Mexican flavors. We ordered enchiladas, but the sauce and cheese on top reminded me more of pizza. The beans were just standard canned refried beans, and the salsa served with the chips tasted like Tostitos. I'm okay with simple, store-bought flavors, but I can easily find those in a jar at the supermarket. When I dine at a Mexican restaurant, I expect a greater depth of flavor. I've been to small, unassuming places that serve real Mexican dishes with deep, smoky salsas and rich, sophisticated sauces and moles. Unfortunately, this restaurant does not deliver that experience.

In my quest for Mexican rice beans and skirt steak this is one more place visited. Overall an average experience with average quality of food. The beans should have been a little more cooked as a tradition and the steak seemed a little overcooked. Asked for guacamole and they forgot about it. Didn't complain. However as always I was hungry and a meal was filling end of the day. Food: 3
