Lisa G's - LAKE PLACID

I visited this restaurant because they advertised vegan options, but unfortunately, they didn't have any. I attempted to order two dishes with cherries and requested to remove the cheese, but they were pre-mixed and couldn't be modified. I also ordered a salad without cheese, but it wasn’t enjoyable.

My main concern, though, was with one of the vegan appetizers: the salsa and chips. It came with cheese mixed in, something I didn’t notice at first since I wasn’t paying close attention to the salsa. I was quite excited to dig in, so when I discovered the cheese, I promptly informed the server. She was very understanding and took it back, returning with a freshly made batch that was free of cheese. She apologized for the mistake and explained that it was an accidental contamination. While I appreciate her response, it raises a big concern for me that a restaurant would allow such a mix-up to happen in the first place.

The menu clearly marked vegan options, but the only dish available besides the chips and salsa was a curry noodle soup. While it was fine, I didn't find it particularly enjoyable. There were several vegetarian dishes on the menu that could easily be made vegan by substituting certain ingredients, such as using alternatives to butter in the mushroom shells. I wish this was more of a standard practice! I would love to see restaurants like Lisa G's make more vegetarian options available in vegan form.

I had the vegan noodles it was so delicious and well designed. can not wait to come back and try the vegan sloppy joe.
