Moose Lodge Boat House At The Whiteface Club Resort

We were on vacation.The place we were staying recommended us to go there to eat .I had to call for reservations .The girl said there’s a wedding. So that they we’re starting at 730 opening .I said I’ll take it ! It’s our wedding Anniversary!! So I thought wow!! Theres A wedding the food should be good!! We arrived early. We went to the hostess, We said Hi ! We have reservation. She said unfortunately we are booked.I said!! we have reservations!!! Im not understanding what your saying!! If you ever a watch sitcom, it’s like you can’t make this stuff up .Any way it just went done hill from there.We could of just left . But we were hungry !! We were ask to sit in the front of the hostess and we said no!! It was supposed to be a special dinner.So they sat us In front of the building looking over lake placid. She gave me a blanket.The waiter came and ask what we would like to drink . He asked for a land shark beer . He came back and said unfortunately we are out . The wedding party must of took them all . But unfortunately we had made a bad choice! The food was cold!! Who sends out a half of chicken on a bed of rice cold !! I don’t think he knows what he’s doing!! It’s like he took out the refrigerator and put on my plate. When the waiter came back and asked me how it is? I stayed quiet,my husband was already agitated and annoyed .This person who they called a chef or a cook Didn’t care.The burger was asked to be cooked medium. It was still mooing.. red .The food came out in five minutes. Who!! Cooks in 5 minutes!!!! Normally you can smell your food when it’s cooked. The only hot food was the fries!!! The cook didn’t make the fries!!! Because they were hot!! At the end I said to the waiter that my chicken was cold . He said sorry! I’ll tell the cook . We said don’t bother. When you are spending money going out to eat . And you are expecting really good food !! I do not recommend this place !!!!!

As always,the Moose Lodge does not disappoint.The views of the lake are worth coming for and the food is a bonus.I have come to this place for years,and I’m always upset they don’t stay open past Labor Day.Kid-friendliness: Always have something the offspring will feed on.Parking: Not the greatest parking situation,but not as bad as Main St in the summer.

Great location on Lake Placid. Our group was split between the Kobe burger and the Cedar Plank Salmon. The burgers were enjoyed the salmon was unfortunately overlooked and neither was finished. The J1 staff is trying to be helpful but not quite up to the rhythm needed to feel attended to at the table.

I'm so disappointed. We loved Moose Lodge for many, many years. This year they have changed the menu for the worse. We loved the brussel sprouts appetizer and the tacos etc from the previous menu. The food was very consistent and reasonably priced. New menu has more elevated choices at really elevated prices, but the meals are really not good. The Lemon Shrimp Pasta looked good, but the pasta was completely glued together underneath the shrimp. Like a big blob of pasta (you couldn't really tell it was papperdelle just a glob) with a few shrimp on top for $32. Could not be eaten. The Cedar Plank Salmon was just that a plank of salmon for $36. Needed a chainsaw to cut it. Inedible. The bright spot, and the reason for 2 stars, was the service. Very friendly and attentive. So sad that we can't go back there.
