Charlie Mae's - Lake Village

Great breakfast and lunch options. Down-home style cooking.

The ladies at the welcome center recommended Charlie Mae's. It is a bit hidden from the road with little signage, making it hard to locate. The interior is old and could use some updating, but the staff is very friendly and attentive. We didn't realize at 12:30 that they closed at 1:00, so many lunch options were no longer available. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries, and it was a delicious homemade burger. Overall, it's a good spot for a casual meal.

I am giving this restaurant 5 stars because everyone, except the waiting staff, deserves it. The food was amazing - true southern homemade cuisine. The waitress either forgot about us or ignored us until I had to get up and request what I needed. On our first visit, I didn't eat much because I wasn't very hungry. The kind chef came out to ensure everything was in order, even though I didn't ask for anything. This woman alone would have received 5 stars from me, as she was genuinely concerned that I didn't enjoy the meal and was ready to make it right. It's refreshing to see someone who cares so much about their customers' experience.

The food is consistently delicious at this restaurant. I always have lunch there when I work in the area.

Everything they have is very good!? I eat here several times a month and have never had a bad meal!?
