The Burger Experience - Lakeland

I visited with some friends and had Courtney as our server. She really entertained our group, and every recommendation she made, from the delicious sexy margaritas to the amazing strawberry shortcake sundae, was spot on. We all plan to return and will be requesting her every Friday!

We had dinner at SB in Lakeland, FL, and Courtney was our server. The service was excellent, and the food was fantastic. We appreciated the cozy atmosphere. The Brunswick stew is absolutely amazing! We've never had anything that wasn't impressive on the menu. Make sure to ask for Courtney; she will look after you well! The cocktails are great too!

Smokey Bones in Lakeland, FL, offers outstanding BBQ! I ordered the pulled pork, my husband chose the pulled chicken, my dad had ribs, and my mom enjoyed a bacon cheeseburger. Everything was delicious! We started with the skillet cornbread as an appetizer, which was sweet and delightful. All the sides we sampled were fantastic: coleslaw, fresh corn, steamed broccoli, and baked beans. They have all the classic BBQ sides you would expect. There were also four different BBQ sauce options available on the table, so there's something for everyone's taste. For dessert, we indulged in the banana pudding and chocolate cake. The portions are enormous, making one dessert perfect for sharing between two people. Both the pudding and the cake were rich and decadent. Service at Smokey Bones was warm and attentive.

I cannot recommend this restaurant. I placed an order through Uber Eats and received none of the items I requested. When I called for assistance, Danny, the Service Manager, was not helpful and suggested that I reach out to Uber Eats directly. Honestly, I would have been better off going to McDonald's instead.

During our recent visit to Smokey Bones, we were quite let down. I ordered a salad topped with crispy chicken, but it was barely acceptable as I sifted through the lackluster greens. The lettuce was wilted, and many leaves seemed to be well past their prime. To make matters worse, the cranberries, strawberries, and pecans were noticeably in short supply. When I mentioned this to our waitress, Dakota, she simply asked, “Can I get you something else?” I declined since it was too late for me to order a different dish—my husband was already halfway through his meal. I had hoped to speak with the manager, but he never came to our table. Later, when I saw Dakota again, I asked if she had informed the chef or manager about the salad issues. She said she had, adding that the food had just arrived that day and that everything is delivered frozen. I was shocked! Is it really true that salad greens arrive frozen? I couldn't verify her claim. On the brighter side, my husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal of ribs, chicken, fries, and baked beans, leaving only his Texas toast untouched. He was satisfied with his experience, but unfortunately, my meal did not live up to expectations.
