Warung Ita - Lakemba

Amazing food, doesnt look too good, but tastes amazing, I recommend to everyone and anyone who loves South East Asian food!

We went there today, all the way from Central Station to enjoy these Padang-style (West Sumatra) dishes in Lakemba. Though I can't call it spicy at all, they cooked it well. The nearly-not-spicy food is friendly to our younger kids, but I do hope they increase the level of spiciness in the dishes.To my opinion, Warung Ita offers better version of Padang food than the one in Pondok Buyung, Kensington. More authentic.

The place is basic but the food is great and really authentic Indonesian food. It is not westernised or toned down it is exactly like the food you get overseas. Cheap eat too!

Indonesian food does not present well to my eyes, and they do say you eat with your eyes too. But, this was delicious and not very pricey either. Be daring with your order, the menu can be a little hard to grasp, I went with their recommendation and it was delicious. Chicken, pickled egg, rice it was lovely.
